Whether you've always wanted to give it a go or you're returning to performing after a break, this course will help you build confidence while learning the core skills of singing, dance and performance.Led by experienced West End professionals, each class is taught in a fun, friendly and supportive environment where you'll learn songs and choreography from some of musical theatre's most popular shows. The course is carefully structured to help you develop week by week, with plenty of encouragement and individual feedback along the way. It's completely normal to feel nervous when you start, but you'll be supported every step of the way. While you'll spend time performing as part of an ensemble, everyone also has the opportunity to sing on their own during the course, helping you build confidence in a relaxed and encouraging setting. The course culminates in an informal showcase performance for family and friends, giving you the chance to celebrate everything you've learned and experience the thrill of performing on stage. What should I wear to class? Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely during dance and movement work. We recommend trainers or suitable dance shoes, along with flexible clothing such as leggings, joggers or activewear. Acting Through Song Work on vocal and acting-through-song material, exploring repertoire from Les Misérables, including At The End of The Day, I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Stars, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and Do You Hear the People Sing, as well as All That Jazz from Chicago. Dance Repertoire Learn dance material from well-known musicals, including You Can’t Stop The Beat from Hairspray and All That Jazz from Chicago. Informal Showcase Rehearse and refine your material before sharing your work in an informal showcase for friends and family.
