Blending traditional and contemporary Bollywood styles, the course focuses on advanced choreography, expressive storytelling through movement, and building the confidence to captivate a live audience. You’ll train with purpose, working toward a live performance in the final week, giving you a chance to showcase your progress, presence, and unique style in front of an invited audience. Useful information Do I need prior experience to join this course? Yes, this is an improvers-level course. We recommend that participants have completed at least one Bollywood dance course, or have some prior experience in Bollywood or similar commercial dance styles. Is there a performance element to this course? Yes - this is a performance-focused course. In the final session, you will perform a fully choreographed routine in front of a live audience, giving you real on-stage experience and a chance to showcase what you’ve learned. What styles of dance will I be learning? Bollywood Fusion (a mix of Bollywood with hip hop, jazz or contemporary) - Classical Indian dance influences (such as Kathak and Bharatanatyam) - Folk styles (like Bhangra and Garba) - Modern cinematic elements for stage presence and visual storytelling Is this suitable if I want to build confidence performing in front of others? Absolutely. This course is designed to help dancers grow in both technical ability and performance confidence. You’ll receive guidance on stage presence, expression, and how to engage an audience both emotionally and physically. What should I wear to class? Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Barefoot, dance sneakers, or soft dance shoes are all suitable. For the performance, guidance will be given in advance about costume or colour themes. Can I invite people to watch the final performance? Yes - the final session will be open to a small invited audience. Friends and family are welcome to attend and support the performers.
