This one-off practical workshop is open to complete beginners as well as those with some experience. You will explore core acting techniques such as voice, movement and script work in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Led by an experienced tutor who is also a professional actor, the class gives you the chance to try acting for yourself. Enjoy practical exercises, meet like-minded people and discover which of our courses - from Beginners to Improvers, Screen Acting, Theatre Companies or Foundation training - would be best for you. All Acting classes are delivered in an encouraging and safe group setting giving you the chance to express yourself and have fun whilst doing so. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN In this one-off, taster class you will take part in practical acting exercises suitable for all levels. You will explore fundamental techniques in voice, movement and more. You will practise building believable characters. You will develop confidence in performing in front of others. You will gain insight into how acting classes are structured here at City Academy. You will have the opportunity to talk to a professional actor about the industry. Yes, the class is designed for all levels, including absolute beginners. 3 What if I am not sure which course to take after this? Your tutor will talk you through the options and help you decide. 4 Can I attend more than one taster? Yes absolutely. You are welcome to book another if you would like to try a different focus or tutor. 5 Next steps after your taster Once you have experienced the class, choose the route that suits your goals and pace: Beginners Acting – build core techniques in a supportive course. Acting Improvers – develop your skills and confidence with structured progression. Screen Acting – focus on performance for camera; you can also explore the Screen Acting 4 Week Intensive.
