Armed with your camera we’ll go deep into Richmond Park – the largest enclosed space in London – to photograph herds of Red and Fallow deer. Following the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to receive feedback on your images in a one hour online session with your tutor. In a natural environment, you’ll get a hands-on experience of observing and photographing wild animals. As with all of our photography workshops at City Academy, you will learn from professional photographers with years of experience, and your amazing photos will reflect the level of teaching. New to photography? Before attending this course you will need a basic knowledge of aperture, camera lenses, shutter speed and ISO including exposure modes. If you’re new to photography, then you may find it helpful to sign up to one of our Beginner Courses first. Natural Light Learn how to make the most of natural lighting to create strong contrast, atmosphere and dramatic wildlife images. Camera Settings Get to grips with the key camera settings used in wildlife photography, including depth of field, perspective and focusing techniques. Action Photography Discover how to photograph moving subjects and capture striking action shots with confidence. Fieldcraft & Stalking Learn how to approach and observe animals carefully to improve your chances of capturing effective photographs. Safety & Preparation Understand the safety considerations involved in wildlife photography, including suitable precautions for working outdoors. Animal Welfare Explore the importance of respecting wildlife and protecting the wellbeing of animals while photographing them. Please bring a mirrorless camera, a DSLR camera or a compact camera with full manual controls, a variety of focal lenses from 70-200mm, your camera’s manual, a fully charged battery, an empty memory card, comfortable shoes and an external flash (if owned, we can supply them if not). If you don’t have any of this, you can borrow a camera for use during class time.
