No partner is required! You can join solo, and you’ll rotate partners throughout the class so everyone has the opportunity to dance and learn together. What should I wear to class? Wear something comfortable that allows easy movement - smart-casual or activewear is perfect. Smooth-soled shoes are ideal for turning and gliding. I’m completely new to dancing. Is this course suitable for me? Absolutely! Our beginners’ classes are designed for complete newcomers. Your tutor will guide you step-by-step through the basics at an easy pace. What is the difference between a leader and follower? In partner dance, the leader starts the dance and guides their partner through physical signals. The follower responds to their partner with their own movement and expression. It is not based on gender, as anyone can be a leader or follower, and some people learn both roles. Will I learn both Standard and Latin styles? Yes! The programme covers both Standard Ballroom (like Waltz and Quickstep) and Latin Ballroom (like Rumba and Cha Cha) so you’ll experience a wide range of styles. Our Approach This class will cover all the techniques necessary to learn this beautiful art form, steps are broken down for easy learning.
