Our Screen Acting Summer school is led by a team of highly experienced industry professionals — working actors, directors, casting directors, stunt coordinators, and agents — all dedicated to nurturing the next generation of screen talent. Every tutor brings current, real-world expertise directly into the studio, ensuring you train to the standards expected by today’s film and television industry.

You’ll be guided by practitioners who have appeared in major TV dramas, international films, West End productions, and leading commercials. With their insider knowledge, industry insights, and hands-on experience, they will help you develop the technical skill, creative confidence, and professional understanding needed to succeed.

Darren Tighe

Darren Tighe is an experienced Screen Actor and Screen Acting teacher. His top performances include his role as Dean in series ‘Cracker’, Darren in series ‘Goldplated’ as well as his performances on many TV series such as Touch of Frost, Casualty and Midsomer Murders.

Amber's most recent credits include Tina: The Tina Turner Musical in the West End, Macbeth at the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Good John Proctor in The Jermyn Street Theatre.

Victoria Temple-Morris

Victoria has appeared in numerous television commercials and in sketches on Channel 4 and Channel 5, and projects on Radio 2 and Radio 4. Her stage credits include west end performances at The Aldwych Theatre and The Bloomsbury Theatre

Ronin Traynor

Ronin is certified stage combat and fighting teacher with the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat and serves on the executive committee.

Charlotte Brimble

Charlotte Brimble

Charlotte Brimble is a professional actor known for her lead roles in Sky Cinema’s feature Arthur and Merlin and Sundance winning film Burger (Special Jury Prize), in addition to TV appearances in ITV’s Victoria, and Canal Plus’ Spotless.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Do I need previous acting experience?
No. The course is open to beginners as well as those with some acting experience who want to focus on screen work.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing you can move in, a notebook, and water. Scripts and all technical equipment are provided.
Will I get to work with a casting director?
Yes – you’ll take part in a mock audition with a London-based casting director or agent.
Will I get footage from my work?
While the emphasis is on training and playback in class, you’ll have the opportunity to review your work and receive detailed feedback.

TUESDAY – UNIT BEAT WORK, ACTING WORKSHOP

14:00–15:30 Acting workshop • Exploring your creative palette • Finding vulnerability and privacy in public

15:30–16:30 Acting workshop • Layering monologues through sense memory and character-based improvisations

WEDNESDAY – HITTING MARKS DUOLOGUES ON CAMERA

10:00–11:30 Camera technique • Hitting marks workshop • Movement requirements on set

11:30–13:00 Duologues rehearsal • Working with a director • Exploring different directions for a scene

14:00–15:30 Filming duologues • Two-shot and close-ups • How a scene is composed

THURSDAY – THE AUDITION ROOM CASTING WORKSHOP

All filming will be watched in class and you will receive notes from your tutor in class as this is more beneficial to your development. It ensures that everyone feels free to explore and engage without the concern of scenes being publicly viewed. You will be sent this footage after the course for viewing only.
