Your instrument(s). If you would like to prepare a piece of music or song for your instrument you may, but this is optional. If you choose to, please bring a copy of the sheet music. A keyboard will be provided. Actor-Musician Performance Explore how acting, singing, dancing and live music can work together to create dynamic theatrical performance. Instrument as Story Learn how your instrument can become part of the story, supporting character, atmosphere and stage action. Solo Playing Develop confidence performing solo musical material within a theatrical context. Ensemble Playing Work with others to create live musical moments, building timing, listening and group awareness. Improvisation Use improvisation to unlock creativity, respond in the moment and generate new performance ideas. Choreography and Movement Explore how movement and choreography can connect with live music and storytelling. Composition Experiment with composition, creating musical ideas that support the world and emotion of a performance. Collaborative Devising Work with your group to devise original material, combining music, character, movement and theatrical ideas. Final Showcase Bring your work together in a final showcase for invited friends and family. Who is this course for? This actor-musician course is open to anyone who currently plays, or has played, a musical instrument. There is no audition required to join. For confident players, there will also be the opportunity of experiencing leading the music as Onstage Musical Director. Tutored by Robert Hazle (Calamity Jane, national tour, London Calling! Our shows are held in some of the best performance venues in London, and are a great way to experience the performing arts.
