During the classes you will master the art of acting through song, combining both disciplines to give convincing and moving theatrical performances. Throughout the course, you will work on solo material with personalised guidance from your tutor, who will suggest songs that best suit your voice, vocal range and performance goals, helping you build a repertoire of material for future auditions and performances. Your experienced tutor will also help you select the best piece for the final class showcase. Each week you will work on your songs in front of the group in a masterclass-style setting. This will be a supportive, open and friendly environment to build your confidence performing solos. You will be encouraged to try new and challenging material for performance, with plenty of opportunity for individualised feedback and development from your tutor. The final class of the course will culminate in an informal showcase for invited friends and family, giving you the chance to put what you have learned into practice and share your progress. WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS COURSE During the Acting Through Song Course, you will: Learn to combine advanced acting techniques and vocal work. Work on your solo singing with individualised feedback from your expert tutor. Take part in full technical warm-ups in each session to refine your singing and acting techniques. Learn how to connect deeply with lyrics to create authentic, emotionally engaging performances. Build a personal repertoire of songs that showcase your strengths and suit your unique voice. Add expression and confidence to your performances. Perform in an informal showcase to invited guests at the end of the course. Preparing a song for this course Please bring any song you like for week 1. It could be something you are currently working on, a song that is a challenge for you in terms of character/vocal quality, or a song that you think shows you off well. Please bring make sure to bring the musical accompaniment as either a backing track or taped sheet music.
