Taught by a specialist tutor in a stimulating and supportive environment, you will be encouraged to fully engage with the practical exercises that lie at the heart of Meisner's approach to acting. This course is more intimate and intense than other Acting classes. It is designed to bring you into the present moment as a performer. You will explore how to respond truthfully to your scene partner, unlock your unconscious impulses, and deepen your connection to your fellow actor through observation and repetition. This course is perfect for those who are new to Meisner but eager to explore a fresh approach to acting. Some prior performance experience is helpful but not essential, just bring an open mind and a willingness to participate. USEFUL INFORMATION 1 Do I need previous acting experience? Some acting experience can be helpful, but it is not essential. This course is suitable for anyone with a genuine interest in exploring the Meisner approach. 2 Do I need to bring anything? All scripts and materials will be provided. Just wear comfortable clothing you can move in. 3 What makes the Meisner Technique different from other approaches? Meisner focuses on truthful, instinctive responses in the moment, rather than pre-planned line readings or heavily scripted performances. 4 Is the course very physical? While not physically strenuous, the exercises involve movement, interaction and emotional engagement, so comfortable clothing is recommended. 5 What can I do after this course?
