Our exciting Illustration course introduces you to basic techniques for illustration - which will provide you with the tools to grow and develop your own style of illustration - you will take part in a series of fun individual exercises in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Using pencil, pens, watercolours and paper you will learn how to draw characters, landscapes and objects to visually convey a message or story. You will take inspiration from a variety of contemporary illustrators working across different illustrative practices. Beginners and more advanced artists are welcome, as is anyone with an interest in illustration and visual arts, who is looking to build and develop their own illustrative style. Whatever your taste in comics, from Manga to Maus, this enjoyable course explores basic techniques that you can use to develop your work, and instill the confidence to create and reproduce your own material with simple but effective resources. Like all of our art and drawing classes, you’ll receive friendly feedback throughout the course. CLASS CONTENT During your lessons you will: Explore different ways in which you can approach illustration. Experiment with a range of ways of drawing and developing your ideas visually. Try using a mix of drawing mediums in order to find what works for you. Experiment and learn about light, shadow, line and perspective in illustration. Learn about colour, the meaning attached to it and how to balance and use colour effectively in your drawings. Learn how to respond visually to promps. 👤 EQUIPMENT Pencils, pens, water colours and paper will be provided, but please feel free to bring a sketchbook and examples of illustrations. 📊 LEVEL Beginners and above.
