Complete your writing goal. Work on perfecting your writing skills from the fundamentals of character building and storytelling to exploring perspective shifting and effective dialogue. Connect with other writers, share your analysis and bounce creative ideas around the space.

You are the focus of this course with 3-4 hours a day of dedicated solo writing time in our comfortable, spacious studios with London as your backdrop and muse. These writing sessions will be complemented by workshops led by an expert, published writing tutor. You can choose to share your work, get feedback from the group or troubleshoot any writing challenges you are facing.

Feel free to submit a piece of work before the course begins. This can come in the form of a synopsis or a section of writing, it will give you the opportunity to receive detailed individual feedback in addition to the reflections of your fellow writers. The timetable will also include a session with a special guest tutor who will be invited to share their work and reflect on their professional writing experience.

This retreat will not only push you to complete your personal goals and overcome challenges, it will also allow you to collaborate with fellow writers in the heart of London and enjoy a social out together.

The price of the course will include the price of a group outing to the theatre or cinema on one of the evenings.

TIME TO WORK

The timetable has been designed to give writers the time and space to write. Every day will provide substantial opportunity to make progress on your project within our comfortable and spacious studios.

SELF-GUIDED

With an emphasis on your personal process, there is the freedom to find your own path within the framework of the week. Whether you prefer to write first thing in the morning, avoid the afternoon slump, or work into the early evening, you can dedicate quality, self-guided time to your writing.

COLLABORATION

One of the key features of the week will be the opportunity to share your work with fellow writers, who are also developing their own stories. We will build a supportive and encouraging writers group which will enable everyone to receive and offer feedback.

ANALYSIS

Analysing the work of established writers is a key component of any writer’s journey. We will pick apart a series of relevant texts over the course of the week, discussing the fine detail of what makes great writing in different forms from flash fiction to screenplay to the novel.

SKILLS

Everyday includes an active writing workshop lead by the lead tutor, covering a wide array of skills necessary to completing your work. From considering basic skills such as building characters and structuring storylines to writing effective dialogue and shifting perspective these sessions are intended to feed into your writing.
