This acting course builds on your existing skills with a focus on spontaneity, impulse, and creative play, all within a supportive and challenging environment. Across the course, you’ll expand your technical range and confidence as a performer. You'll deepen your knowledge of text analysis, character creation and development, as well as technical aspects of performance such as blocking, voice work, and movement. Guided by an experienced tutor, improve your skills through individual feedback while working in a supportive and exciting ensemble environment. Completely new to acting? If you’re just starting out, we recommend beginning with one of our Acting Beginners courses. These friendly beginner courses will help you build confidence, learn essential acting techniques and understand how to perform naturally in front of an audience. Stagecraft and Rehearsal Understand blocking, staging and rehearsal technique, helping you work more confidently in performance. Useful information 1 Who is this course suitable for? This course is ideal for anyone who has completed a Beginners Acting Course (with us or elsewhere) or has some prior acting or drama training. 2 Do I need to bring anything? No, all scripts and materials are provided. Just wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring a bottle of water. 3 What acting methods will I be taught? We take a multi-disciplinary approach, drawing on a variety of techniques including Stanislavski, Meisner, Method, and Boal. This allows you to explore different ways of working and discover what suits your style. 4 Can I repeat this course? Yes - in fact, we recommend taking each Acting Course level more than once with different tutors. You won’t repeat content, as each teacher brings a fresh perspective and new creative material. 5 What comes after the Improvers course? Once you’ve developed confidence and consistency at this level, you may wish to move on to our Intermediate Acting Course, or audition for one of our performance-based company projects, such as the Assemble Theatre Company or the Actors Company.
