This course builds on your existing skills with a focus on spontaneity, impulse, and creative play, all within a supportive and challenging environment. Across the course, you’ll expand your technical range and confidence as a performer, while working towards a prepared showing of your work in the final session. Completely new to acting? If you’re just starting out, we recommend beginning with one of our Acting Beginners courses. These friendly beginner courses will help you build confidence, learn essential acting techniques and understand how to perform naturally in front of an audience. Confidence and Creativity Strengthen your personal expression, spontaneity and creative confidence as an actor. Voice and Movement Unlock more freedom and range through targeted vocal and physical exercises. Stagecraft and Rehearsal Understand blocking, staging and rehearsal technique, helping you work more confidently in performance. Useful information 1 Who is this course suitable for? This course is ideal for anyone who has completed the Beginners Acting Course (with us or elsewhere) or who has some prior acting or drama training. 2 Will I be doing a performance at the end? There is no formal public performance, but the course culminates in a showing of work during the final session – a chance to put your learning into practice and receive feedback. 3 Do I need to bring anything? No – all scripts and materials are provided. Just wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring a bottle of water. 4 What acting methods will I be taught? We take a multi-disciplinary approach, drawing on a variety of techniques including Stanislavski, Meisner, Method, and Boal. This allows you to explore different ways of working and discover what suits your style. 5 Can I repeat this course? Yes – in fact, we recommend taking each level more than once with different tutors. You won’t repeat content, and each teacher brings a fresh perspective, new material, and unique exercises to challenge you. 6 What comes after the Improvers course? Once you’ve developed confidence and consistency at this level, you may wish to move on to our Advanced Acting Course, or audition for one of our performance-based company projects, such as the Assemble Theatre Company or the Actors Company.
