Our Short Film Course is a practical, project-led filmmaking course designed to help you experience the full process of making a short film.

Working with an experienced industry filmmaker, you will collaborate with your classmates to devise, shoot and edit an original short film, gaining hands-on experience across each stage of production.

Useful information

Do I need previous filmmaking experience?
No. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with a little experience who want to build confidence and skills.
Is all equipment provided?
Yes. You'll be working with professional BlackMagic Cameras, lighting, sound equipment, and editing facilities. If you have your own kit you'd prefer to use you're welcome to do that.
Will I get to direct actors?
Yes, actors are provided so you can focus on directing and bringing your story to life.
Do I get to keep my film?
Yes. You’ll take home your completed short film at the end of the course to use in your portfolio or share online.
How big are the classes?
We keep class sizes small to ensure everyone gets the chance to take on key crew roles and receive personalised guidance.

Weekly courses and one-day workshops
Cancel at least 72 hours before your course starts to receive a full refund, course credit or a free transfer to another available date. Cancellations made within 72 hours will receive course credit instead.

 

Intensive courses of five consecutive days or more
Cancel at least 7 days before your course starts to receive a full refund, course credit or a free transfer. Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice will usually receive course credit instead.

 

We are unable to offer refunds for missed classes or non-attendance.
