Our Musical Theatre Singing Lessons are perfect for those with some basic understanding of singing technique wishing to improve their skills while singing material from Broadway and The West End. During these singing lesssons, students will be introduced to a number of techniques and approaches, including acting through song and voice qualities such as twang, sob and belt.

Our classes are taught in a fun and supportive environment and most of the time you will be singing in a group, although occasionally you will have the opportunity to sing on your own to check your progress.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND LEVEL OF THIS COURSE?

This course is suitable for those who have a basic knowledge of singing techniques and the ability to correctly pitch and understand their voice.

Students must have completed a Beginners Singing lesson and/or have previous singing experience and wish to further develop their vocal skills.

Within this course, students will further consolidate vocal technique, breathing exercises, posture and application of this technique across a broad repertoire.

The ability to hear notes and sing them back as well as good spoken and written English is required.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

All courses are taught within groups. Each week will begin with a thorough vocal warm up before going on to discover key vocal techniques and approaches to develop your confidence and singing skills.

Students will have the opportunity to sing a broad range of repertoire each week. Your voice will grow in strength and flexibility and you’ll gain a sense of control and confidence when singing. Best of all, you’ll have a lot of fun, and meet like-minded new people.

BY THE END OF THE COURSE, WHAT WILL I HAVE ACHIEVED?

Students will have:

• Developed confidence in their vocal ability, improving vocal expression, dynamics and musicianship.
• Explored singing as part of an ensemble and as a solo singer.
• Understand how the vocal mechanism works.
• Developed effective breathing and singing technique.
• Applied this technique across your chosen repertoire.
• Demonstrated learnt technique within an informal sharing to fellow students on the final session.
