For a limited time, we’re offering advanced dancers the opportunity to join our flagship 1 Year Professional Ballet Course for a focused 4-week block.

This intensive programme allows you to train full-time alongside our year-long students in a highly immersive and supportive environment. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the rigour, depth, and daily discipline of professional training - without the full-year commitment.

Whether you're preparing for auditions, returning to high-level training, or seeking to push your technique and artistry further, this course is designed to meet you at the highest standard.

Daily Classical Ballet

Train through daily advanced-level ballet classes rooted in RAD, Cecchetti and Russian styles.

Pointe and Men’s Virtuosity

Develop pointe work or men’s virtuosity training as part of a focused professional-level programme.

Repertoire and Solo Coaching

Work on selected classical and contemporary variations, developing performance quality, musicality and precision.

Contemporary Technique

Explore Graham, Cunningham and Limón methods through focused contemporary technique, improvisation and phrase development.

Pilates and Conditioning

Improve strength, flexibility, posture and injury prevention through bespoke conditioning for ballet dancers.

Audition and Career Preparation

Take part in workshops covering audition technique, solo preparation, presentation and feedback from industry professionals.

Course Tutors

 

The course is led by experienced ballet professionals whose careers include The Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet and Northern Ballet. Many have also taught at institutions including The Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet and international conservatoires, with work presented at the Royal Opera House, Bucharest Opera House and Paris Opera Ballet. Together, they bring expertise across classical ballet, character, choreography and professional performance.

 

Aita Young MBE

Aita Young MBE

Anita Young MBE ARAD FISTD, former Royal Ballet soloist, is a renowned teacher and Cecchetti specialist who has taught worldwide. She received an MBE in 2018 for services to ballet and dance education.

Tania Fairbairn

Tania Fairbairn

Tania, former dancer with Scottish and Northern Ballet, is now an international ballet mistress. She’s also a choreographer with credits at the Royal Opera House and in major West End musicals.

Conchita del Campo

Conchita del Campo

Conchita, a Pilates expert since 1972, danced with top UK companies and legends like Fonteyn and Nureyev. She taught at London Studio Centre for 29 years and trains teachers for Body Control Pilates.

Denzil Bailey

Denzil Bailey

Denzil is an English National Ballet alumni with expertise in classical Ballet and Diverse Repertoire. He is also the founder of Ballet Black a renowned, British ballet company.

Chris Wright

Chris Wright

Chris is dedicated to helping individual dancers reach their full potential. He holds over 35 years of experience as a dancer, performer and teacher.

Estela Merlos

Estela Merlos

Estela teaches a highly physical Release-Based class. Her interest lies in creating a space to enhance our kinaesthetic sensory awareness.

Nuria Garcia

Nuria Garcia

Nuria, City Academy's Artistic Director of Dance, is a regular guest teacher at prestigious schools all over the world. Specialising in Flamenco choreography and improvisation, Nuria trained in Spain under some of the most revered teachers including Antonio Canales, La Tati and Adrian Galia.

Owen Morris

Owen Morris

Owen is a specialist Pilates and Progressive Ballet Technique Teacher working across Junior, Senior and Advanced Levels.

Jose Agudo

Jose Agudo

World-renowned choreographer and performer José Agudo blends Flamenco, Kathak, and contemporary dance. A key creative for Akram Khan Company, his work has toured globally and earned this visionary performer international acclaim.

USEFUL INFORMATION

Who is this course suitable for?
The course is designed for advanced and pre-professional dancers aged 18 and over. You should have an Intermediate+ level of classical ballet training and be confident in technique and (if female) pointe work.
Is accommodation included?
Accommodation is not provided, but we can recommend affordable options near our studios in Central London.
Can international students apply?
Absolutely. We welcome dancers from around the world. If you need a visa to study in the UK, please ensure you check the requirements for short-term study.
How intensive is the schedule?
This is a full-time course, running Monday to Friday, with multiple classes each day. It’s designed to replicate the structure and discipline of professional company life.
Is this course part of the one-year programme?
Yes. You’ll be training alongside dancers enrolled in the full-year Professional Ballet Course, giving you access to the same expert tutors and curriculum during your 4-week stay.
What happens after the course ends?
You’ll leave with improved technique, professional feedback, filmed material, and clearer direction for your next steps. Some dancers continue on to other programmes, auditions, or return to professional work.

Cancellations Policy

Our cancellation policy depends on the course you have booked.

 

Weekly courses and one-day workshops
Cancel at least 72 hours before your course starts to receive a full refund, course credit or a free transfer to another available date. Cancellations made within 72 hours will receive course credit instead.

 

Intensive courses of five consecutive days or more
Cancel at least 7 days before your course starts to receive a full refund, course credit or a free transfer. Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice will usually receive course credit instead.

 

We are unable to offer refunds for missed classes or non-attendance.
