In this practical course you’ll be working in the studio exploring the fundamental principles for delivering authentic performances on screen. Develop your relationship with the camera, understanding how to use it to your benefit as an actor. Through this course you’ll work in pairs and trios to deliver short scenes to camera. Our expert tutors will coach you, giving notes and leading constructive group discussions to help hone your Screen Acting performance. Learn to analyse text, make choices, access and portray your emotions. The goal is to create realistic performances that ring true for an audience. You’ll learn to attract and hold the audience’s attention, progresses the narrative of the scene and make an impact as an actor. Work with selected scenes from popular film and TV shows and enjoy instant playback and feedback. This course perfect for those with basic experience of acting. SCREEN ACTING COURSES - LEVEL 1 CONTENT Screen Acting Courses - Level 1 Content Over the duration of this course you will: Learn the fundamental skills to deliver an authentic performance to screen Explore ‘script to character’ techniques Analyse scripts and make creative choices to progress a narrative Rehearse and perform a scripted duologue on camera Train your eye to view and analyse screen performances Enjoy expert direction and constructive feedback to hone your skills Work in a professional studio with camera and playback set-up USEFUL INFORMATION 1 What will I learn on the Screen Acting Level 1 course? You’ll gain a solid foundation in screen acting techniques, including working with the camera, understanding shot types, hitting marks, and delivering truthful performances whilst on set. You'll also explore basic text analysis, improvisation, how to learn lines and build confidence on-camera. 2 Do I need any previous acting experience? Whilst no prior Screen Acting experience is necessary, if you are completely new to Acting please start with our Screen Acting Introduction course. 3 Who teaches the course? All of our tutors are experienced industry professionals with extensive screen credits and teaching backgrounds. You'll learn directly from these professional with current, real-world experience in film, TV and commercials. 4 Is the course practical or theory-based? It is primarily practical. Each session involves hands-on exercises, on-camera work, and playback so you can see your progress and receive personalised feedback. 5 How big is the class? We keep class sizes small to ensure individual attention and plenty of on-camera time for each student. Typically, there are no more than 10-12 participants per course. 6 What should I bring or wear to the class? Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. You may be asked to bring a printed script for certain sessions, which will be provided in advance. 7 What's the best step after Level 1? Most students move on to our Screen Acting Level 2, where the focus shifts to more complex scenes, character development, and working on professional-grade material. 8 Do we get to keep the footage? All filming will be watched in class and you will receive notes from your tutor in class as this is more beneficial to your development. It ensures that everyone feels free to explore and engage without concern of scenes being publicly viewed.
