Discover your inner artist and learn to paint in a fun and supportive environment. Our How to Paint Classes - Beginners are a great way to spend some relaxing time away from your busy work schedule and channel your creative energy.

This course is perfect for those who have always wanted to paint but not known where to start. It is also a great next step for students who have completed our How to Draw Beginners course.

Starting with basic colour theory and mixing colours, you will learn how to begin a painting from initial drawing to completion, working with a variety of different mediums including brushes and palette knives. You will also learn how to set up your palette, brushes and palette knives, allowing you to get the best results from your artist’s tools.

Mainly working with water soluble acrylic paints to capture still life objects, our experienced tutors will encourage and help build your confidence as a painter and artist, as well as giving you the freedom to discover your unique style.

HOW TO PAINT CLASSES - BEGINNERS CONTENT

During our How to Paint for Beginners course you will:

• Understand how to set up your palette, brushes, palette knives and mediums
• Discover basic colour theory and colour mixing
• Learn how to paint with water soluble acrylics
• Work with still life objects and set-ups
• Gain confidence in producing your first painted artworks
• Like all of our art and drawing classes, receive constructive guidance and feedback

Paint can be messy, so bring a protective apron (there will be a few available for those who have come straight from work), or wear washable clothes!

No need to bring anything else, just yourself and your creativity! All materials including paints, brushes and paper will be provided.
