"Jonny specialises in teaching contemporary music genres including pop, rock, jazz, blues and musical theatre.

His teaching is always creative, fun and engaging, designed to bring out the singers true potential. His mission is to build artistic individuality, strong technical ability and confidence in performance.

A singing session with Jonny will typically involve a thorough physical and vocal warm up followed by a detailed focus on technique, grounded in Estill Voice Training. This will then be applied to appropriate song choices.

Students who train with Jonny can expect to fully understand how their singing voice works, what their singing range and type is and what musical genres suit them best.

They will be able to interpret material in an individual way with a strong focus on performance and acting through song."

Experience highlights:

Lead singer and songwriter for indie/rock band ‘Dupe’. Signed to Sony S2 Records in the late 90s.

Trained as a musical theatre actor at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Appeared in a number of touring and West End productions including ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ and ‘Rock Legends’.

Performed around the world as a concert singer with The Wellington Symphonia, Cape Town Philharmonic and The Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.

Continues to write and release his own music as a solo artist and in collaboration with others. He tours his music regularly and has appeared on BBC Radio 6 Music Introducing.
